Position overview
As a Receiving Clerk, you’ll manage the flow of incoming goods by reviewing purchase orders, inspecting deliveries, and updating the inventory system accurately. You’ll be responsible for finalising goods received documentation, handling claims, and working closely with the receiving team. This is a key role in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our supply chain.

What you will do
Duties & responsibilities
Initiating Goods Received Process
- Prepare and print the Goods Received Check List (GRCL) for all incoming deliveries.
- Review purchase orders in the system against the delivery schedules.
Data Entry & System Updates
- Capture details from the checklists into the inventory management system accurately.
- Enter discrepancies between the purchase order, delivery notes, and invoices into the system.
Goods Received Voucher (GRV) Finalisation
- Create and finalise the Goods Received Voucher (GRV) after verification and approval.
- Ensure that all items received are correctly accounted for in the system.
Claims Management
- Handle price discrepancies, goods shortages or over-deliveries.
- Initiate price and shortage claims with suppliers and follow through on resolutions.
Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate records of all received goods, vouchers, and related claims.
- Archive all completed documentation according to company policy.
Collaboration
- Work closely with the Receiving Assistant to ensure accurate physical checks are completed.
- Liaise with other departments, including procurement, to address any discrepancies.
Other
Any other task from time to time.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years work experience in retail
- Minimum matric/diploma
- A recent SAPS clearance
- A valid medical certificate
